Description of Works Performed

  1. Removal of deteriorated sealant and damaged coating
    • Existing silicone/sealant and loose or deteriorated material were carefully removed from the affected areas.
    • Surfaces were cleaned and prepared to provide a suitable substrate for the new repair and sealing system.
  2. GRP / gelcoat surface repairs
    • Localized damaged areas on the yacht's exterior surfaces were prepared and repaired.
    • Damaged or uneven gelcoat/coating was removed where necessary, followed by filling and fairing of the affected areas.
    • The repaired surfaces were prepared for final finishing and blending with the surrounding gelcoat/paintwork.
  3. Repair around hull/deck fittings
    • Several fittings and penetrations were treated, including areas around circular deck/hull fittings and mounting points.
    • Existing sealing material was removed and the surrounding surface was prepared before re-sealing.
  4. Re-sealing of joints and openings
    • Old sealant was removed from joints around exterior panels, hatches and structural/fitting interfaces.
    • New marine-grade sealant was applied to restore watertight protection and prevent water ingress.
  5. Professional masking and protection
    • Adjacent surfaces, fittings, windows and painted/gelcoat areas were protected using masking tape and protective sheeting.
    • This allowed the repair and sealant works to be carried out without contaminating the surrounding finished surfaces.
  6. Final surface preparation
    • The repaired areas were cleaned, smoothed and prepared for the final finishing stage.
    • Particular attention was given to achieving a neat transition between the repaired sections and the existing yacht finish.

Yacht Exterior Repair & Re-Sealing Works

Localized maintenance and repair works were carried out to the yacht's exterior GRP/gelcoat surfaces and around various hull/deck fittings. The works included removal of deteriorated sealants and damaged surface material, preparation and repair of localized GRP/gelcoat defects, cleaning and fairing of the affected areas, and renewal of marine-grade sealing around fittings, joints and exterior panels.

All adjacent finished surfaces were carefully protected with masking tape and protective sheeting during the works. The repaired areas were subsequently prepared for final finishing, with the objective of restoring the appearance, integrity and watertight protection of the affected sections.
